• Founding editor-in-chief of the Iranian Studies Series (Leiden University Press / Chicago University Press). This series, established in 2007 (first at Rozenberg in Amsterdam / Purdue University Press, Indiana, US), aims to publish monographs on a wide range of topics in Iranian Studies – from linguistics, to religion, literature and social studies. It is co-published in the Netherlands and the USA 
• Member of the editorial board of the Journal of the International Society for Iranian Studies
• Guest editor of The International Journal of Persian Literature (Pennsylvania University), thematic issue on Literature and politics (2016, 2021)
